This is a country single house for a five-member family, covering an area of 320 m² and built on 1100 m² block of land, belonging to OSMAES cooperative in Theologos. It stretches on two levels providing extra living areas and has a basement (or ground floor from the back due to a slope) and sleeping/guest rooms. Areas have been organised to fit the lifestyle of the family, enabling it to have direct contact, all day round, with the areas around the building. The building itself consists of two long orthogonal enclosures created through a main shell in which recesses/atria are used to split it into enclosures and create a split level by the sloping terrain.
The design of the single house is rendered with geometrical simplicity and neat lines. On the back side of the building, providing a view out to the sea, the building shell is accented by creating semi-open areas with prominences reminiscent of balconies or lanais, used in traditional Greek architecture. For added protection, 4,20 m wide balconies were designed. Metal frames on the building rooftop support wood planks that are used for shade and also for providing geometric strength to the building grid. Plaster is the main building material used to daub the walls.
